SAD SAD SONGS – Vom Trost der Schwermut

Oliver Welter, musician and lead singer of the Austrian cult band Naked Lunch, dashes any collective good mood to pieces. Accompanying himself on his guitar, he invites his audience to celebrate New Year’s Eve with sentimentality, melancholy and, above all, good songs. Burgtheater theatre director Martin Kušej, Verena Altenberger & Mavie Hörbiger will also take the stage and provide literary interludes.
After the successful WINTERREISE production Oliver Welter realised for the Burgtheater together with Clara Frühstück, theatregoers can now look forward to an anti-New Year’s Eve that eschews fireworks and cheese fondue.
