Are poets capable of telling the truth? Viennese author and essayist Peter Rosei tries to. He is radical and self-critical, while still believing in the beauty of life. His new book, which is out on 11 April, is more than just an autobiography. It is an attempt to achieve literary honesty and, at the same time, the story of an author who has lived many lives. An author whose motto could very well be: life is wonderful, even though it’s dreadful at times.
