Guided Tours

Visit the Burgtheater and get an extraordinary insight into the amazing technology, architecture, organization and history of this world-renowned theatre.

Constructed between 1874-1888 on the Ringstraße Boulevard, the Burgtheater is a historical building and one of Vienna’s important tourist attractions. Some 13,000 people attend the guided tours and walks through the building every year.

Our daily guided tour through the Burgtheater includes the grand staircases with famous ceiling paintings by Gustav Klimt and his associates Franz Matsch and Ernst Klimt, the sculpture collection with busts of renowned playwrights, including Hauptmann, Schnitzler, Raimund, and Nestroy, the portrait gallery featuring portraits of eminent actors and the technical facilities of Europe’s largest theatre.
