The world after Corona
Srećko Horvat is stuck. The Croatian philosopher and activist had curated a series of events called "Europamaschine" for the Burgtheater together with Oliver Frljić. Due to measures to contain the corona virus, the last performances of the series could not take place and Srecko Horvat was unable to leave the country. Out of forced immobility he has started to use his global connections to some of the most important thinkers of our time to hold talks on the platform DiEM25 TV about the world after the corona virus. Because there is no better time to design it, but now!
Horvat already started his talks with high-ranking experts such as linguist and public intellectual Noam Chomsky about a historical contextualization of our current situation in the political history of the 20th and 21st centuries and rethorics that currently dominate the public discourse; to Richard Sennett, the world-renowned sociologist, about the future of the city; to New York journalist Jeremy Scahill about the social inequalities that the virus is revealing worldwide with alarming clarity; and to actor and activist Gael García Bernal about love in the days of the virus. With the kind permission of Srećko Horvat, the Burgtheater is showing these inspiring and sometimes provoking conversations that reach far beyond our daily debates - those that have already taken place as well as those that he will present in the days to come. For the world after Corona is not yet here.
The talks are in English language.
