Joachim Meyerhoff presents “Hamster im hinteren Stromgebiet”

Burgtheater

What would you do if a health crisis brought your previously vibrant life to an abrupt halt? Could storytelling help save you? And does humour have the ability to heal? In the fifth part of the autobiographically inspired series of novels "Alle Toten fliegen hoch (All the Dead Fly Up)", the 50-year-old narrator finds himself in the middle of an unexpected drama: he is in intensive care owing to a medical emergency. The man who regularly physically exhausted himself is now suddenly connected to all sorts of equipment in a hospital bed on the outskirts of Vienna. And yet, however existential the situation may be, it is also full of absurd experiences and encounters.
