Das ist Alise von Jon Fosse

Lesung mit Dörte Lyssewski, an Cello Lukas Lauermann

Twenty-three years ago Signe’s husband, Asle, took his rowboat out onto the fjord, never to return. Ever since, Signe has found herself suspended in time. The old house is filled with the voices of its former residents, and as she meanders through the past, Signe encounters family members stretching back across many generations …

Dörte Lyssewski reads the 2003 novella ALISS AT THE FIRE by this year’s winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature, Norwegian author Jon Fosse. Thanks to the alternating perspectives and timelines, the internal monologue develops an irresistible pull. Joining Lyssewski onstage is cellist Lukas Lauermann, who will perform his own compositions.
